MS Manor School
Our Ethos | Safeguarding
At Haris Manor, safeguarding is not merely a policy— it is the absolute foundation of our entire school community. It is embedded in our culture, our actions, and our unwavering commitment to every child’s right to feel safe, valued, and heard.
Our core principles:
The Child is Central: The welfare and best interests of the child are paramount in all decisions and actions we take.
It Could Happen Here: We operate with a mindset of proactive vigilance, not complacency. We understand that our students may be uniquely vulnerable due to communication barriers, complex needs, or dependence on adults. We are trained to recognise the subtle signs of harm.
Zero Tolerance: We have a zero-tolerance approach to any form of abuse, neglect, bullying, or harm. There are no excuses.
A Voice for the Voiceless: We are passionately committed to being the advocates for our students. We listen to them—their words, their behaviour, and their communication in all forms. We believe them, and we act on their behalf without delay.
Everyone’s Responsibility: Safeguarding is the duty of every single adult in our school community, from our staff and volunteers to our contractors and visitors. There is no bystanderism here; “it might be nothing” is never a reason to stay silent.
Transparent Partnership: We work in open, honest partnership with parents, carers, and external agencies to create a seamless network of protection and support around every child.
Our Pledge to Our Students:
“This is your safe place. We will protect you, listen to you, and believe you. You will be taught about your right to be safe in a way you understand. You will never be alone.”
Our Promise to Parents & Carers:
“Your child’s safety is our first priority. We will be relentless in our vigilance and transparent in our communication with you. We are your partners in keeping your child safe.”
This ethos is upheld through rigorous policies, regular training, and a leadership team that is utterly committed to a culture of safety above all else.
MS Manor strives to provide the best outcomes for children and young people.

From time to time, pupil information may be shared with third party agencies where welfare concerns have been raised. These concerns will initially be shared with the pupil’s parents or carer unless their involvement places the pupil at risk.
Our safeguarding policy can be found on the school website or alternatively you can contact the school office for a printed copy.
